Cable Row over internal security

Cable Row over internal security

On July 20’ 2009, a lunch was hosted by the PM Manmohan Singh in the honour of the secretary. The invitees included Indian Congress Party’s Gen. Sec. Rahul Gandhi, as well as other prominent figures from politics, business and civil society. Gandhi shared electoral issues of the Congress with the secretary. He told that he focused on finding young members for the party.

(Mr. Gandhi you yourself are 41 and finding younger members for your party. Its better you get married first and let other ministers of the party find young members.)

And responding to Ambassador’s query about LeT’s activities in the region and immediate threat to India; Rahul said that there was some support for the group among certain elements in India’s indigenous Muslim community. But, Rahul warned the bigger threat may be the growth of radicalized Hindu groups, which create religious tensions and political confrontations with the Muslim community.

Rahulji, how can you make such an irresponsible statement and that too to a foreigner? Although, they are radicalized in their methods are our nation’s part and they ought to receive the same respect as you and me. You can’t point out these groups more dangerous than the terrorist group, Lashker-E-Taibba. We all know that there exist some groups in our country which create furor and tension, but why the hell you’re telling the whole world about it?

We all are the citizens of the same country and should remain as a family, and as in a family, the family members don’t showcase the disabilities of one another to the outside world, you shouldn’t have told the whole world about the ‘disabilities’ of some citizens in our country.

But you did the reverse. Now, Rahul your words can’t be taken back thanks to the whistleblower site and you’ll have to face the criticism from the opposition, and offcourse those radicalized Hindu groups (we all know who they are), and from people of India as well.

So, I on my part ask you Mr. Rahul Gandhi, What was the need to make such a statement and that too to the US ambassador?
You should be aware that these kind of remarks can affect the country’s security and its fight against terrorism.

Comments from Congress Party leaders about internal threats from radicalized Hindu groups is not new, but this time Rahul Gandhi crossed all limits by expressing his view to US interlocutors.
